1.
Ashton Sanders as Chiron
Moonlight
His breakdown in Moonlight remains to be one of the most harrowing scenes of 2016. He also has the toughest phase of Chiron to portray and he's remarkably affecting.
2.
Ralph Fiennes as Harry Hawkes
A Bigger Splash
I am fond of larger than life characters with sensitivity and weakness in them. Ralph Fiennes is insanely charismatic in A Bigger Splash and he makes portraying jealousy so fun yet so poignant at the same time.
3.
Christian Bables as Barbs
Die Beautiful
Because he won our hearts for being the beshie friend til the end of Trisha Echavaria. His breakout in Die Beautiful is handsdown unforgettable.
4.
Alden Ehrenreich as Hobie Doyle
Hail, Ceasar!
It's been almost a year since I saw Hail, Ceasar! and yet I still laugh thinking about Alden Ehrenreich's scene with his co-nominee Ralph Fiennes. This promising actor is going to be big, especially now that he landed the role of the young Han Solo.
5.
Jared Harris as William Fuller
Certain Women
In a film with a bunch of fantastic performances, Jared Harris was a scene stealer in Certain Women.
